Vision Statement
The Vision of the CPCSC School Library Media Program is to provide equitable, diverse and intellectual access to all students and staff in an environment that utilizes information resources and tools required for student success, promotes learning and collaboration, teaches information literacy skills, encourages educational and pleasure reading, establishes life-long learning, and inspire a positive relationship with reading for life. Mission Statement The mission of CPCSC Libraries is to embolden students and staff to effectively and ethically use and create ideas and information by providing continuously accessible, authoritative resources in varying formats, collaborating with others to design learning opportunities, encouraging digital responsibility, cultivating information literacy, and establishing a life-long love of learning and reading. The Role of the Media Specialist The school Librarian Media Specialist will support the curriculum by curating a collection that is representative of the community, by implementing literacy instruction for all students and by collaborating with teachers to empower students to be lifelong critical thinkers, independent readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information. The Role of the eLearning Coach The eLearning Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice focused on the areas of eLearning and digital integration. The eLearning Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based effective instruction for teachers. The eLearning Coach will also provide personalized 1:1 support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers, levels and disciplines. |
